How is this different from a cheap OBD adapter?
A cheap adapter usually only reads standardised engine faults. We read every control unit with manufacturer software — including transmission, chassis, comfort, assistance and multimedia.
Do I get something in writing?
Yes, a report in plain language: what was found, how urgent it is and what a realistic cost range for the repair looks like.
Do you just clear the faults?
Only by agreement. Clearing faults without knowing the cause merely postpones the problem — the memory fills up again.
What if nothing is found?
Then we say so. A report with no faults is a result too, and often a reassuring one.
