FSC codes for BMW —
issued to your chassis number.
An FSC is a 20-character activation code that BMW ties to a single chassis number. It unlocks map data and individual software functions inside the control unit. Without a valid FSC, an installed map stays inactive.
By map generation
Which generation you need depends on the head unit fitted, not on the model year. If you are unsure: send the VIN and we will tell you.

Which map do I have?
The map generation is not in the registration document, it depends on the head unit. Fastest route: open navigation, settings, version. The map name with its year is shown there, for example „Premium 2024-1“.
